Summary Special lecture by Dr. Jane Goodall Abstracts New Dec. 2001 |
Summary: The purpose of this symposium is to promote scientific understanding of the Great apes, our evolutionary neighbors, and to promote the wildlife conservation and the welfare in captivity. This is the fourth annual international symposium under the name of SAGA: Support for African/Asian Great Apes that is a spiritual descendant of CCCC (Committee for Care and Conservation of Chimpanzees) founded in a gathering of chimpanzee researchers at Chicago in 1986. The symposium "Evolutionary neighbors" is fully open to the public. We have a "Young researchers program" that provides 10 places for young foreign researchers who can have an opportunity to have a presentation in the symposium and to get the financial support for the travel and accommodation.
